"our." and "our.2" were the first all-black group art exhibitions to take place at california state university, long beach in 2019. They were group exhibitions that targeted the multitudinous ideas, topics, and occurrences that affect the African Diaspora, through the artists' perspectives. The media ranged from digital to painted works that targeted the ideas of human perspectives amongst and between race(s), depict anecdotes from historical figures, and displayed a spectrum of those involved in the Diaspora. Each artist utilized different media, as well as  ranging topics in a broad spectrum of the African experience.
The work that i provided was narrative based, ranging from paintings, photos, and digital collaged works that focus on the duality of issues that affect the Diaspora, while also highlighting the beauty of what it is to be of                                                                                             African descent.
Together, the artists’ work brings a taste of representation into what it is to be Black based off of experiences to emulate reality.
"Our." and "our. 2"  is a provocative, conversation-erupting showcase designed to manipulate the viewer's worldview and present it in the world of our own as Black men and women.

As a photographer and collage artist, tijera's work highlights the black experience. The work, inspired by the renaissance era, marries with her perspective of what it is to be a black woman. Through love, activism, and vulnerable honesty, tijera's work conveys the power of perspective and one's worldview.
